Movemnt has joined the Open Property Data Association (OPDA) to help accelerate homebuying by sharing digital property information during transactions.
Movemnt is part of the Houseful family of brands, which includes Zoopla, Alto, Yourkeys, and Hometrack.
The OPDA recently welcomed several organisations, including NatWest Group, HSBC, Nationwide, Lloyds Banking Group, Atom bank, PEXA, and Coadjute.
Since its launch last year, OPDA has established open property data standards aimed at creating trustable and shareable data.
Those using these standards have reported reducing the time from mortgage offer to exchange of contracts to just 15 days.
OPDA has advocated for the Government to provide digitised property data at the source, and is seeking clarity on how to execute a fully digital home buying market.
This month, OPDA also launched a research project to gather opinions from buyers on improving the homebuying process in the UK.
Movemnt will contribute to OPDA’s working groups, focusing on standardising property data and exploring collaborative opportunities with other Houseful brands like Hometrack.
Owen Rogers, Director of Product at Movemnt, said: “OPDA aligns closely with our own ambition at Movemnt to speed up the property purchasing journey. Our membership is an important part of our commitment to improving all parts of homebuying for all stakeholders including estate agents, conveyancers and consumers. We’re looking forward to collaborating with OPDA to help build the digital standard for property transactions.”
Maria Harris, chair of OPDA, said: “Movemnt very much reflects our values at OPDA and its work is clearly complementary.
“Owen and his team recognise the importance of open data standards in digitising property transactions.
“Along with work by our lender and other members, Movemnt will help us to transform what is currently a poor customer experience of the homebuying process.”
