OPDA Research Featured in This is Money: Two Thirds of Homebuyers Put Off Moving Again

We’re pleased to share that our upcoming Consumer Survey Report feartured in This is Money last week.

The article highlights data from our 5,000-person survey, revealing that two thirds of recent home movers would be reluctant to go through the process again, with that figure rising to nearly three in four among 35- to 44-year-olds.

Our research also found that the difficulties of moving home are having a real knock-on effect on people’s lives, influencing family plans, career decisions and retirement choices.

OPDA Chair Maria Harris described the findings as a “major alarm bell” for the housing sector, and the piece explores how smart data and digitisation, including the Government’s recently published Smart Data Strategy, could be the key to transforming a system that, as Maria put it, is “broken and needs deep structural reform.”

Momentum is building across the industry and in the Government. Read the full article on This is Money here.
