OPDA Sandbox Project Launches Consumer Video

OPDA’s sandbox project led by the Council for Licensed Conveyancers in partnership with Raidiam, and with support from the Digital Property Market Steering Group (DPMSG) has launched it’s first consumer video explaining what Smart Property Data is and how it delivers a better homebuying experience.

Around one in three home moves in England and Wales fall through. Even when they complete, the process is far from smooth, often taking up to seven months. A big part of the frustration and anxiety felt by consumers is repitition and waiting for the next steps. The same details, sent to different people at different times, with no one able to see the full picture.

Smart property data changes that.

It brings the idea behind open banking, like the security you already use to approve a payment with your face or fingerprint, to buying and selling a home.

Your lender, conveyancer and agent can share the right information securely, but only when you say yes.

It won’t stop every deal falling through, but it takes away a lot of the friction. We are working towards a future where moving home means less time on paperwork and more time looking forward to what’s next.
