We’ve seen some signficant milestones achieved over the last few months, reinforcing our calls for digitisation of home buying and the provision of open data standards, and setting out the roadmap for how these will be delivered across government and industry.
✔ National Trading Standards material information added to framework ✔ Data Bill legislation for public and private open data ✔ Reusable Digital Identity for home buying transactions ✔ £3m in the Autumn Statement to fund open data and data standards
The changes to improve our homebuying and mortgage process are not only happening and being implemented by our members, they’re now underpinned by legislation, regulation, and government funding.
Our Chair, Maria Harris, spoke with Mortgage Introducer TV to explain how the Open Property Data Association is working to create greater collaboration on this data, as a well as technology standards, while driving industry adoption. As she says, it only launched last year, but comes off the back of two and a half years of work in this area, striving to improve the home buying process for consumers.
Welcome to the Open Property Data Association. The Open Property Data Association (OPDA) is the UK's independent industry body for companies revolutionising the property industry through data collaboration.
